Video of SFC’s Frederick Testifying about Stadium Subsidization and Rental Car Taxes

Sports Fans Coalition Executive Director Brian Frederick spoke before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, Commercial and Administrative Law about legislation prohibiting excise rental car taxes. These taxes are often used to subsidize sports stadiums that provide little to no economic benefit for the community and only serve to enrich owners. Further, these taxes are usually paid by local residents, many of whom can’t afford a car. So the same people who can’t afford to attend games in the stadium are also paying for the stadium through rental car taxes.

Full video of the hearing is here. Frederick’s testimony starts at 22:05.
