Some fed up San Diego Chargers fans have started an organization called Stop Charger Blackouts. The Chargers’ first two games were blacked out, and other than the New England Patriots game this week, the rest of the games this season are at risk of not selling out.
This group plans to appeal to fans and local businesses to contribute what they can and then the money will be pooled together to buy enough tickets to prevent the blackout. The tickets will be given to local charities and the fans will be able to see the game. A win-win for everyone.
Of course, the fans shouldn’t have to do that because the Chargers games take place in a taxpayer-financed stadium and the owners of the Chargers can buy the tickets for a fraction of what the fans will have to pay and give them to charity, but kudos to the fans for caring enough to get involved.
Sports Fans Coalition definitely supports Stop Charger Blackouts and will help their efforts in any way we can.
More to come…
